Catch Up

Ever since Craig got home on Monday, we have been playing catch up. Catching up on what we did apart, catching up on laundry, catching up on our shows, you get the picture. So I have not had much time to blog this week.

One big announcement before I tell you about our weekend, Linc is sleeping in his crib!!! For those of you who read often, you know that Linc has slept in a pack-n-play since we started sleep training because he was able to get out of his crib. Well after doing some research, I thought that maybe our brackets were too long and that our mattress was sitting up too high. I called the crib company and explained our situation and they sent over some new brackets. Craig put them on Friday night and he has been sleeping in his crib soundly all weekend! Success, he now has his room back without the pack-n-play right in the middle.

Friday's when I have to work, the day normally goes super slow and I just can't wait to get home. While I still had the feeling of not being able to wait to get home, this Friday went pretty fast at work. I had a lot of things to take care of, especially since I was asked to be the President of the Child Care Board at our work, YAY! I had to work with the old president to find out what my new duties would be. I also went to lunch with my parents at Love Shack. It is a new burger joint close to downtown, and it is great! Before I knew it, the clock said 3 and it was time to head home. We stayed in Friday night and had Outback to go, it was great.

Saturday, Niki and I had big plans to hit up the bi-yearly McMoms garage sale in Keller. It is a garage sale hosted by the mom's of multiples club and they always have great kids stuff. It is like waiting at a sample sale, you have to wait for them to open the doors. Niki and I got there right before they opened so we could get our hands on the good stuff. Boy am I glad we did, I got some great steals.

This jacket for example. This Ralph Lauren jacket it in great shape and it was only $5! They retail for so much more than that, I was so excited. I was going to take pictures of all the stuff I got, but I forgot to before Linc went to bed, so these are shots I found on the web.

I also got this Gymboree Christmas outfit, well the pants and shirt only. But now I only have to go get the sweater. I think those both together were $7! I know I would have paid way more, and it was also like new.

I also got him a pair of jeans, pair of shoes, 8 more long sleeved shirts, and two toys all for $56 total. It was a great sale. They are having one again in March.

Linc had his final swim lesson and did great. I think he learned a lot and now we just have to reinforce what he learned. Saturday night we went over to the Brawley's for lasagna and a movie, but Niki and I fell asleep watching it. It was a lot of fun, but I think Niki and I were super tired from going to the garage sale so early.

Sunday Linc slept in until 8:20! That is a new record for him. It must be because he is sleeping in his crib now which I would have to imagine is much more comfortable. We had a pretty relaxed day of shopping and napping. We did print out some of our pictures from his 18 month shoot, we can't wait to hang them up and pass some out!

Since I always like to end on a fun note, I thought these pictures would be appropriate. Earlier in the week I made meatballs for the first time and what is meatballs without spaghetti? Well Linc really enjoyed his meatballs, he love it so much, that he took my plate after he ate all of his and started eating off of mine (mind you I was not even done, haha).

Have a great week!

Daddy's Home and a Collage

Yay, Daddy got home safe and with only a few ring worm bruises. Well he does not have ring worm, but if you have ever been hit by a paintball, that is what the bruise looks like. So daddy just looks like he has a lot of circles all over his body. The worst one is on his neck, we will see how long that one stays. He had one hit him behind the ear once and I think the mark is still there, just very faded and that was over 3 years ago.

Daddy said he had a good trip, but we are super excited to all be back together. He was really tired since he ended up driving the whole way back from Colorado. Linc was so funny when he heard him come in. He first looked at me and I said "Daddy's home!" He then went into the hall way and Craig called out to Lincoln, and Linc just started crying. He didn't even know if Daddy was really here, he kept looking at me for reassurance. Also, anytime Craig left the room Linc would call out for him to make sure he was still in the house. I think he really missed his Daddy. It was a long trip for all of us even if Linc and I stayed here.

Well we are glad to have him home and Craig will get to put Linc to bed all by himself tonight as I go to my bootcamp class. That's right, I am putting myself through the torture again, just couldn't get enough. I really want to lose these last six pounds, so I hope one more time in this class can get me to where I can maintain. We will see.

I also got our collage today from Jennifer. It really turned out cute. It looks better on her website, but I wanted to post it here. Hope you all enjoy it!

Beware if you don't like messes

Day two/three without daddy and what were we up to? Well we started off by heading to the gym so mommy could work out and Linc could play before swim lessons. We learned to go under water in lessons this Saturday and he did great. Then it was time to go down for a short nap while I took a shower and got ready for the day.

After a nap and lunch for Linc, we headed over to grandmas for some fun. After I dropped him off so I could have some much needed me time, I headed up to the mall with Niki. It was fun just going to all the stores without Linc screaming at me to leave.

After a few hours, I went back to get Linc so we could head home for dinner and an activity. I had something special planned and couldn't wait to get started. I thought it would be fun (another suggestion from Meredith) to make a cake and let Linc decorate it. Well it was fun alright, but also super messy, haha. We first made the batter, and I think it was on the ceilings when we were done, haha. After they baked, I iced them and pulled up a stool for Linc to get after it. Well get after it he did, oh man. I had set up sprinkles, m&m's and gummy worms to top our cakes. I put it in little bowls for him and instead of picking up a few and placing them on the cake, he just dumped the whole bowl on the cake. Then to spread it out he smashed his hand in the cake and swirled it around. Well the pictures speak for themselves.

Ice those countertops!

He wanted to get a big sample right out of the middle. We all know that is the best place in any dessert.

Got to make sure the hands AND the arms are covered.

I think the counter needs a little more m&m's.

Now tell me that doesn't look delish.

Of course we had to have a bath afterwards. I feel like I have had to give him one everynight that Craig has been gone, I must be planning super messy activities. While I had to mop the floor again after he went to bed, I would say that it was well worth it. He was so excited and I am sure it got his brain going which is key. He made his cake and ate it too, what could be better.

Children's Museum

As soon as I found out Craig would be on a paintball trip this weekend, I started to plan our weekend without Daddy. Since this is not my first time, I have learned from experience that it is best to have a lot of stuff planned and to keep busy up until bedtime. So first on the agenda this weekend was the Dallas Children's Museum. I have been wanting to take him to the Fort Worth one, but it is under reservation. So I looked around and found out my friend Meredith had taken her daughter to the Dallas one and loved it. Her daughter is only a year older than Linc, so I figured he would probably like it as well.

After Linc let me sleep in until 7:30 (thank you!) we headed over to switch cars with my mom for the weekend. Craig took the Tahoe, and Linc does not do good without the DVD player on long rides, so I needed to get my moms Expedition. When I got there my mom decided to tag a long to the Museum with us. Boy am I glad she did, I think it was so much better having the extra help and I think she had a fun time exploring too.

We stopped off at El Fenix for lunch before heading over to the Museum. At the Museum Linc got to ride a fire truck, crawl in an ant hole, dress up, play in the water, make music, milk a cow, pick corn and so much more. It was the perfect place for a child his age and older. I would highly recommend it if you have a toddler or older child. It is so interactive. It is like a huge toybox with all new things to explore and it is inside, great for semi rainy days.

Here is Mom and Linc after lunch. This is suppose to be the original El Fenix. It was really good and they have 91 cent kids meals this year for their anniversary which is great for a toddler who does not eat much.

I know this pictures is blurry, but I think it is super cute so I posted it anyway.

After a long drive we finally arrived at the Dallas Children's Museum. The first thing we stopped at was the Earthquake exhibit. He loved pushing the button to make it vibrate.

I guess now a days toddlers have to know how to surf the Internet? Well I guess he was in the big kid museum, but he does love the keyboard.

He spent most of his time in the fire truck. He just loves wheels, so he was fascinated because this one has two.

My little fireman, he chose the most dangerous job. They also had nurse and doctors outfit to try on, but he only wanted this outfit.

He loved these ducks, he couldn't stay away from them. Have you ever seen such a big rubber ducky?

That duck is as big as he is, haha.

Water, water, water, need I say more?

Dancing on stage, he is a true performer.

Playing dress up, they had some fun costumes.

Making some music together.

Climbing in the spiderweb. Hopefully the only one he will get into, I don't like spiders.

Neigh...goes the horsey.

Taking a ride on the tractors/trike.

Milking the cow, he was a pro.

Linc milked himself, haha!

Sorting through the veggies, mmm corn!

Linc is playing with a little boy we met at the museum. He is 14 months old and just as big as Lincoln. We have such a little guy.

He finally ran out of steam after going strong without a nap all day long. You can tell when he is pooped because he just stares into space and sits still.

We all needed a break before we headed home. Linc kept saying he wanted a "nack", so we sat down from some baby cheetos, his fav.

Good Snacks! Need some fuel for the nap home.

I am so glad we got to go and I hope we can go again soon. It wore him out so much that passed out right when I turned on the car and then he crashed at his normal time for bed and slept in again until 7am the next morning, heck yes!

Father Friday 9/18

Here comes another Father Friday. This one is going to be fairly short since I am actually on the road. As you may have noticed from the many posts Lincoln is a handful. We love him to death but man can he drive you nuts sometimes. I felt really bad leaving Amy home all weekend to fend for herself with our little monkey. Amy was gracious enough to let me partake in one of my many hobbies this weekend. So I left for Colorado for the weekend to play paintball. I left late Thursday after Amy got home from her workout to stay the night at a friends house. We left at 3 AM Friday and got to our destination around 4pm in the afternoon.

The entire car ride up I was thinking about Amy and Lincoln and how they were getting along without me. He is a momma's boy but it's always nice to have an extra set of hands, especially when we go out in public. Sometimes he is good and will stay in his chair at a restaurant but only if he is sleeping, haha. He likes to go go go. I know we have a hard time trying to keep up with him so I know it must be hard with only 1 set of hands.

I do miss them and it's hard going to sleep without Amy next to me and it's hard waking up without Lincoln smiling at me and giving me a hug. Like I said this one is going to be short and sweet. I'll try to post more content next go around.

Snap, Snap, Snap...You Get The Shot?

Last Friday we headed over to the Trinity Park to get pictures taken by Jennifer Matlock. This first pictures says it all about his mood that day.

Jennifer was so great at getting great shots anyway. Linc was ready for a nap at the time so nothing was making him happy, but you really can't tell from the pictures. There are tons, but I still have more to post. I hope you enjoy the ones that are up today.

My favorite family photo

What a hip little guy!

We are all wearing the same brand jeans. The little toddlers True Religion are soooo cute!

We finally had to give him crackers so that he would take pictures. That bad thing is that he would not put them down, haha. It was a great picture anyway.

We also all had on the same shoes and the picture turned out so cute.

Change of clothes so we could jump, jump, jump!

We loved the turn out of the pictures! I hope to post some other fun ones later!
