Linc's 1st Easter Egg Hunt

Check out the latest 3 posts, trying to catch up!  The Borg's hosted their 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Forest Park.  This was Linc's first time to attend and first offical Easter egg hunt.
Let's back up a bit, Linc spent Saturday night at Craig's parents house so we could have a nice dinner with Lara and James.  We picked him up about 8:30 this morning for church and found out he had been up since five, haha.  I knew today might be a challenge, but I was excited about Linc's first egg hunt.  About 12:30, Niki and I headed over with the kids, while the dad's had a fun kayak trip.  Linc fell asleep in the car, but was ready to go when we got to the park.
Linc found the cheetos, his new favorite.
Some of the yummy treats at the hunt, they were huge.  I didn't end up having any b/c I had just had lunch and was so full!
After the dads hid all the eggs, Linc was ready to go hunt!
There he goes off to get some eggs.
Now he has a full basket.
Here are the kids with the loot, Linc, Levi and Avery.
After we got done with the hunt, it was time for a train ride.  This was another first for Linc, he had never been on the mini train at the park.  By this time he was so tried, but very excited to embark on his first mini train ride.
I forgot wipes, so he has a messy face, but he really had a fun time!
After the train ride, we headed home.  Linc fell asleep on the ride home and continued to sleep until 6:30!  He still went to be around 7, just the later part of 7.  We had a great time and also got to see baby Ella, Jenn's baby girl!  Thanks for a great hunt!

Mae Turns 3

My friend from works daughter, Mae, turned 3 a few weekends ago.  She had a mermaid themed party at their house.  The house was set up so cute with underwater decor.  Meredith was in cooking school a while back and she can bake amazing things.  So it is not surprise that she made Mae's bithday cake, check it out!

It was super yummy strawberry!  We really enjoyed it.
Linc is kinda getting back to the shy stage where it takes him a while to warm up.  He wanted to spend most of his time in someones arms at first.  Here is Linc and daddy.

He also had a blast with Mae's kitchen.  I think that will be a future present for him, he kept wanting to play with it the whole party.
They also had a pirate come do a magic show for the kids.  It was such a great idea and so cute for the kids.
Here is Mae ringing the bell.
Here is the pirate, he was pretty great!
Linc had a blast, we love going to birthday parties.  Afterwards we were all so worn out we took a 2 hour nap.  Thanks for the great party guys!

Zootastic

The weather finally got nice enough to use our Zoo membership a few weeks ago.  It was also spring break at the same time and the worst time to go, but I had promised Lincoln so we ventured off anyway.  We decided to head over a bit before they opened to help beat the crowd, but it really didn't help.  I was also by myself, so I was tempted to turn around, but he was so excited we went in anyway.
While the trip was difficult by myself (b/c of the huge crowd and the refusal to stay in his storller) it was worth it to get a glimpse of the new Museum of Living Art at the Zoo.  We started off at MOLA, here is Linc ready to enter!
Sitting on the turtle
"Red Birds" as Lincoln calls them.
After MOLA, we ventured off to see the other animals.
It is hard to go to the zoo in the morning b/c Lincoln still takes a nap around 12.  So by the time lunch rolled around I had a cranky toddler, but he wanted to ride the train anyway.  After a 30 minute wait, we finally got on the choo choo train!  He was so excited.
Yeah Choo Choo Thomas, as Linc would say.
We had a fun time and left shortly after the train ride.  Good thing, b/c by then, people where walking from across the highway to get to the zoo, it was crazy.  Linc passed out in the car as soon as I started it and when we got home he slept for another 2 hours, it was great!
We can't wait to go back, but I will not go again at spring break, haha!

Love Birds

Saturday was a great day! We went to get Lincoln's toddler bed attachment at Lone Star.  Shhh...we also looked at baby stuff for our upcoming arrival.  We know it seems early (since we don't know the gender yet), but it is never too early to get ideas.  I have a lot of ideas for a girl and not so many for a boy, but it was a lot of fun seeing all they had.  I felt like a kid in a candy store, and Linc loved it too.  He saw this bunk bed that was lower to the ground and had stairs instead of a ladder and enjoyed climbing up and down the stairs.  I think he wants a bunk bed in his future.  For now (well really in a few months) he will use the toddler attachment for his crib.  We are nervous to change his bed.  We had such a hard time with sleep training and now he sleeps great.  I am just worried we will have to start all over once he can get out, that is why we are going to wait a bit.

After we got done and came home to change, it was over to the Brawley's house for dinner and game night!  We made hamburgers and hot dogs and had lots of cobbler (another thing I have been craving).  The kids enjoyed turning Levi's room upside down and Linc even got in his toy chest to hide, haha.

The highlight of Lincoln's night was seeing his girl pal, Avery.  Boy does he love her and I think she is finally coming around to him.  They played together most of the night, when normally it is just Lincoln and Levi playing together.  When they went to sit down together, I could not resist getting these cute shots of them.
Hey Girl!
Snuggle
Kiss on the nose!
I think they liked that!
One last Big Kiss!
When we got the kids to bed, we played Mexican Train, one of my favorites.  Normally I would not brag, because normally I lose (bad), but I won a bunch of the games, I was lucky.  Maybe this little bump in my belly is bringing me big luck.  Maybe I should go out and buy a powerball ticket, haha.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Did You Hear?

I knew this year was going to be full of wonderful things, but I had not guessed it would be so soon in the year that these gifts would come.

So many great things have happened already and it is only March.

One being that Lincoln just turned 2, isn't that amazing!

As the new year approached, Craig and I discussed adding to our family of three.  Lincoln loves to play with others and we really wanted to grow our family.  We started talking about it months ago that we might start trying in May 2010.  We thought that maybe it would be cool if they had the same birth month.

Then we started to get antsy.  We had already decided we wanted another child, so why were we waiting.  In early December we decided we would not wait until May and instead see what happened now.

So it is with great pleasure and excitement that we annouce we will be having a baby join our family on or around September 15, 2010!

I really wanted to surprise Craig with the news.  I knew he would not expect it since we had only tried for one month.  While it was really hard to not call and tell him as soon as I found out, his reaction was well worth the wait.

As soon as I got the positive reading, I called cookies by design and ordered up two cookies, one blue and one pink.  I then went to party wearhouse and got pink and blue balloons.  When I got home I arranged it all on our bed since I knew that would be his last stop after coming into the house.

After we said our hellos, he went into the room and turned on the light.  I saw him step back and the first thing he said was "No Way!" with a big smile on his face.  Then he said "You are joking, right?" and then ran and gave me a big hug.  He was so excited, and if you know Craig it takes a lot to get that kind of reaction out of him.  I will say I was very pleased, haha!

I am now 13 weeks and am slowly getting over the morning or all day sickness as I like to call it.  I am lucky to not be a person who throws up, but I do feel nauseous almost all day long.  Nothing ever sounds good until the sec before I am hungry, so we had not cooked in our house for 2 months!  I am finally getting over that and am proud to say I have cooked 2 meals in the house this week!  I use to cook like 4 or 5 of them, so I need to get a little better and I know with time it will.  I will say I think the sickness has been a little worse this time, or I just forgot how it was last time.  I have not been sleeping good either and have had a headache almost every other day.  But with all that being said, I am so thankful that I got pregnant and that everything is great with the baby so far.  I pray for a happy and healthy pregnancy.

While I have not had any strange cravings, Craig has.  Mine have been pretty basic stuff, like bean burritos and potatoes and anything fruity.  Craig on the other hand has wanted the strangest stuff.  He got take out one night and went to two different places...for himself.  I wish I could remember them all, but the funnest one so far is Bacon Brownies.  Yes, you read that right.  One night, against my suggestion not to, he whipped up a batch of brownies and cooked some fresh bacon.  He then crushed the bacon up and mixed it into the brownies, yuck!
Let me just say the smell alone told me this was a bad idea, haha.  When they were done he went for a taste test and they were, of course gross.  He said he has not given up on them yet and just has to figure out a better way to cook them both, good luck!

I plan to post my progress in belly pics.  They say you pop out more on your second earlier and really I only notice it if I wear maternity clothes.  I have been able to still wear most of my normal clothes, they are just getting tight.  But for consistency in the photos I put on maternity clothes and now I do look like I have a bump.  We will call this the 3 month picture, even though it was taken at 13 weeks.
I can't wait to keep you all updated!  We are so excited!

A Pirate's Life for Linc

This Saturday was Lincoln's 2nd Birthday party.  I just want to warn you this will be the longest post ever, but it is mostly pictures, so enjoy!
When we decided to get the ship, I knew that we had to have a pirate party on it.  I hoped and prayed for good weather, because in Texas you never know what you are going to get in March.  We were lucky to have pretty good weather so everything went just like I planned.  When I was searching for ideas for the party I came across a super cute banner idea off of another person's blog (whom I have now forgotten the address to).  It seemed easy enough to make, so make I did.  The finished product is in the picture below.  I used burlap and black & white stripped fabric with hot glue, some red spray paint and woodden letters.  All in all it was pretty easy, but time consuming for sure.
Here is the cake table.  We got the cake from a local shop called Treat Me Sweet.  They also did Linc's 1st Birthday Cake.  She made a pirate ship cake and pokka dot cupcakes.  The cupcakes were amaretto and lemon flavored, super yum!
Party favor table.  Who doesn't need some Pirates Booty?
The little tag says his name on it, super cute!  I love living in the age where all your kids things have to be personalized, haha.  I know it is silly, but fun.
They say balloons make a party, well we had them everywhere.  I wish I would have remembered to give them away at the end, I had so many just floating in the house afterwards.
The banner again.
What is a party without popcorn, yum.  I also forgot to tell people about this, so we had a lot left.

Ok, enough with the decor, now it is time to party.  Here is Ollie, Sam and Levi at the Treasure Dig.  I hid candy braclets and necklaces in the sand and we had them dig them up.  I think Sam and Levi had the most and cleaned the whole thing out for us, they are good diggers!
Hayden and Avery on the swing with Philip.
Here is the Birthday Boy all dressed in his skull shirt and shoes.
Time for lunch, here is Chase, Marli, Lincoln and Avery enjoying the "golden nuggets" for lunch.
It was a full house, yay!
Birthday Cake time!
Sam, Hayden and Ollie getting cupcakes.
The pirate ship cake up close, it was pretty cute!
Avery getting a quick taste, yum!
Time to blow out the candle and he did it on his own!
Avery liked the cupcakes!
So did Lincoln.
And Chase.
Here are my grandparents enjoying the party and some cake.  It was french vanilla with milk chocolate icing, very good!
Jennifer and Mike enjoying some cake.
Now it is Pinata Time, you go Linc!
Levi's turn to take a wack.
Levi is a strong boy, he is the one who broke it.
Larsen, Linc, Marli and Jared getting some goodies.
Halmoni and Linc opening candy.
Larsen's mom made him the cutest shirt.
Gam-ma and Linc.
Niki and Maria made Linc a nap mat for his birthday, love it.
Big boys can have fun too!
Marli is a brave little girl, up she goes.
Cute picture of Avery and Philip with all the candy on her face.
Present time with Ryan!
Paula was such a big help at the party.  She cleaned up, told people where to go and was the offical photog for the party.  Love you!
The Gabbard boys and their mama.
Linc in his pirate hat.
We finally winded down the party around 2:30, and we all had a blast.  Linc was super tired but had a wonderful time with all his friends.  He really enjoys being around people, so parties are his thing.  Here we are with my grandpa before they headed back.
Thank you to everyone who made this day so special for Linc and for our whole family.  We enjoyed spending time with everyone and can't wait to see you all again soon!  Happy 2nd Birthday Lincoln, kiss kiss!
