Kennedy's Room & 32 Week Update

As I mentioned in the last post, Craig finished painting Kennedy's room and we moved the furniture in last Saturday.  After the shower I started to put some of the stuff she got out and I wanted to give you a little look see of her room so far.  Mind you, we have a lot of decorating on the walls we need to do, but you can get the general idea of what it looks like right now.  And the paint colors are gray, hot pink and white.

The banner from the shower hangs on her door for now until we go to the hospital.
Here is her crib with the bedding I made (with instruction from Jenny and Nancy).  I made her bumpers, crib skirt and the quilt/blanket.  I still have to make the curtains and table skirt.
Her blanket turned out great, but I will have to say it is made of blood, sweat and tears for sure.  I went over to Nancy's to finish it and she has a much more powerful machine than mine.  I guess I was not paying good attention and ended up sewing through my finger doing this blanket.  The needle ended up breaking in 3 pieces and it just felt like I got a shot, so I was shocked to see all the blood, haha.  Anyway, to be safe I called the dr. the next day and they wanted me to get a teatnus shot and get an xray to make sure it all came out.  Long story, but I want to remember it when she gets older.
Here are the finished bumpers, they turned out great and I love it.
Here is her changing table and a few of the gifts from the shower.
Here is her big dresser.  I love all the details on this furniture, it is very vintage looking!
Some of the fun stuff from the shower.
Niki and Maria had a great idea to get a whole bunch of different K's and put them up in her room.  They started me a little collection so far.  Natalie got me all the initials for her name.
Some of the fun K's.
Here is a vintage brush, mirror and comb set Paula got me at an antique store, very pretty.
One last look at her fun bed.  I admit that I am proud of my self seeing that this was my first real sewing project!
I am actually 33 weeks today, but I had my 32 week appointment last week.  These are from today.
At my 32 week appointment everything went well for the most part again.  My weight was good and so was my blood pressure.  But when my midwife walked in she made a comment that I all the sudden looked really pregnant.  She asked me if I felt that way, meaning did I feel big.  And actually all week people had been making comments at work like "I don't know how you are going to make it" and "Are you sure it is not twins" and "wow", haha, that one was my favorite.  So I said, yes, I have felt a bit bigger all the sudden.  My clothes also seem to be riding up on my stomach, but pants are fine.  It was my stomach that seemed to be growing at a rapid pace.
So she measured me once, paused and then did it again.  Then she said I was measuring bigger than I should be at this time.  She thought maybe we could see the sonographer just to get a gist on the size, but she was not able to get me in.  So she measured me two more times and I finally asked how big I was measuring.  She said I was measuring at 35 weeks!  That is 3 weeks more, yikes, haha.  So I said to her, you sure there is not a twin in there.  To which she replied, no, but it could be a 10lb baby!  Can you imagine a 10lb baby?  I had a hard time getting Linc out and he was only 7lb 6oz.
We get to have a sono next week and so maybe we can determine her growth pattern at the time, we shall see.  Or maybe she will be normal size but I will just go early, who knows.  Everything else was fine, I am still taking my iron because it did not change enough to stop taking it.  It is exciting to think she will be here fairly soon!

Kennedy Mae's Baby Shower!

What a great Saturday we had!  I woke up really excited for 2pm to get here.  I cleaned the house, Craig finished painting the trim and chair rail in her room, he put up her furniture and then I tried to relax until the big baby shower.

Niki graciously donated her house and major decorating skills for the party.  And she is 36 weeks pregnant, now that is determination!  She is such a great friend.  Maria also helped her get ready and I really appreciate that!  I arrived to a very pretty in pink and black house, it was so cute.  Here was the welcome sign when people walked in.
Here was the entry table with cupcakes, favors and an advice book for me.  The cupcakes were so great, Carmen and Paula made them.
Here is the banner and Kennedy's finished blanket for her crib that I made!
The drink table, yum punch!
The food, mini sandwiches, fruit, chocolate strawberries, fruit and crackers.  All provided by the cooks of the shower, Paula and Carmen!
This was a fun surprise, Niki and Maria had this bag monogrammed for me and added a little frill to it as part of my present.  It is so cute and perfect for our little girl!
Getting ready to play some games!
We played a game of A-Z baby items.  I came close to winning, but I had some items they did not think qualified, haha, like quack for Q.  I was thinking of rubber ducky and they say quack, right?  Maria won!
Then everyone got toilet paper and guessed how much it would take to make it around my tummy.  Natalie was the first to go, she had 17 squares and it was too much, yay!  Haha.
It was a quick game because Paula went next and guessed the right amount at 10 squares, go Paula!
Then it was present time.  Niki and Maria made her this super cute blanket and had it monogrammed with her name on it.  I really love it and from what I hear they were up until 3 am finishing it.  I really love these girls, so sweet!
Jenn also had a blanket done for me and these fun bibs with her initials on them.
Lincoln even got a gift from grandma.  He put it on over his shirt when we got home, he loved it!
Sidenote, while we had the baby shower, Avery and Levi went over to our house and played.  The kids were playing in Lincoln's room and Levi called Craig back there because he said they were making a mess.  Philip and Craig go back to find that Linc and Avery had sun screen all over them, the walls and his bed, haha!  Kinda sounds like fun, just glad I didn't have to clean it up.  Thanks Craig and Philip!
I got some super cute clothes, here was a dress my mom got her.
It was such a great shower.  Before I knew it we had been there 3 hours.  I was having such a good time I didn't even realize the time!  Here I am with my grandma and mom.
My mom and I.
Here are my wonderful hostess', Carmen, Paula and Niki.
4 of us were preggo at the shower.  Jennifer, Maria, me and Niki!  It was a lot of fun to hang out with so many!
I had such a great time.  Thank you all so much for hosting this for Kennedy and I.  We really appreciate all the fun times we got to spend with friends.

A Baby Shower For Calvin Eric

This past Saturday Maria and I hosted a baby shower for Niki and Baby Calvin Eric.  Maria and I planned and planned and it turned out super great.  Niki had a great time and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.

I made this banner for the front door, it turned out cute, but the letters did not show up on the pictures.  It say's " A Baby Shower For Calvin Eric".  We had the shower at Maria's house, thanks Maria!
I made this banner which was super fun, it was the first thing I made for the shower.  The letters didn't show up in the pictures here either, but it was way cute in person.  It says "Welcome Calvin Eric".
The fun tissue poms!  These are time consuming, but pretty easy to make.  I want to do these for all parties from now on, they really look great.
We did a sweet shop theme for the food.  You always know that will be a huge hit with a bunch of girls.  The chocolate fountain was by far the biggest hit.  We had all the usual dippers, but my favorite was twinkies!
Oh and the marshmellows!  Taste like mini smores!
We also had baked items such as cupcakes, cookies, cookie balls, cake balls and brownies and of course you normal baby shower sherbert punch, yum!
Maria made these cute lolli pops from scratch and I have a burn mark to prove it, haha.  It never fails, I always get hurt and I was not even making them, haha.  I just happen to touch one when it was still like 300 degrees!
Here is the gift table with a few gifts and a cute diaper bag.
She had a great turn out!
More gifts!
Here is the shower girl, Niki and her two little ones, Levi and Avery.  Calvin is due in August!  Who will he look like?
Present Time!
My favorite, the jean diaper.  "I look like #1 when I go #2!"
Niki's sister in law Nikki made her this play mat, it was so cool.  I have to figure out how to make one for K!
Here is Niki's family: Grandma, mom, Niki, Aunt Jennifer, Sister Kali and Sister in Law Nikki with her son Liam.
Maria and I at the end of the shower, it was a lot of fun but we look tired, haha!
Niki and I!
The belly shots, Maria: 12 weeks, Me: 32 weeks and Niki: 36 weeks!
Love you Niki, hope you had a great shower, it was fun putting it together!
