Craig's Picnic and a few others

Check out the two most recent posts!

I wanted to start off with some pictures of Linc's towels that Tori made him. She has been looking for some pictures of the towels to post on her website. Linc is just so busy it is hard to get him to be still for a picture. That is why most of the ones we take he is not looking or he appears to be running at the camera. We did end up getting some good ones, so I wanted to post those so you can really see how cute they are. She is currently making me two more for different friends, she is just so good!

Last Saturday was Craig's work picnic for Lockheed. It was on one of the hottest weekends we have had so far. I think it got up to 102 that afternoon. I want to back up to tell you what a crazy day it had already been before we arrived here.

My day started with Niki and I running 2 miles outside at 7:40 and then heading into the pool to swim laps. We then did some weights and then I headed home to get showered. Next I was off to a bridal shower until 1. Then I came home and made another batch of brownies for the picnic. After, I had to put Linc down for a nap. I finally got to sit down for a bit before it was time to pack up for the picnic and head on out there because the picnic started at 4pm. Needless to say, I was already really tired from all the previous activities, but I was super excited to go to the picnic. I really just love picnics and being outdoors in general.
When we got there they had already started cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken. It all smelled so good. Plus there were tons of sides and all kinds of good treats for dessert, including my two batches of cookies and brownies. It was also really nice to meet some of Craig's co-workers and their families. Craig's cube mate Lindsay planned the whole thing and did a great job, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. She is getting married soon, so I bet planning is becoming second nature to her.

Ollie and Emily with baby girl on the way.

You like my hat?

Ollie wanting the water his mama has, such a sweet face.

He looks just like a mini Tony, he is just so cute.

Linc was just having a blast walking around and being free. He was just wondering off everywhere finding new things to do.

Everyone there kept telling me to take a picture of this manager, Randy. They said this was the most manual work he has ever done, haha.

This is Craig's main manager, Daron, doing all the wonderful cooking!

Some of the people from Craig's work.

Linc stuffing watermelon in his mouth. We had some in our cooler, and he like new where it was, took off the lid and started chomping down. He even got Ollie in on the action, although I am not sure he liked it. When he was done, he even closed the lid.

Here is Dean, another manager, holding Lincoln. They seemed to be fast friends.

I had to take this picture because this is Tony's future. He will be having a little girl in October and these girls had him wrapped around their fingers in no time. Man is he in trouble, haha!

Throwing a cup, what fun. See it in the air?

Here is Josh, another cube mate of Craig's.

Linc in his glasses, he liked them for about 5 seconds.

At the end of the picnic, we were all tired. Linc even had to sit down to enjoy some water.

We all showered once at home and then put Linc to bed. I think Craig and I watched a movie and then hit the sack early, what a day!
Here are the few others. I had some stragglers from Friday's swim addition in the swim thing.
Here is Linc ready to go out.

It just makes for some great pictures.

If you made it through this post, good for you! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Life as a single...at school that is

In this previous post I discussed Lincoln switching schools. Well I realized last week that Linc has been going here for a year and I have never taken pictures of his teachers. So last week I decided I would take some of a few of them. You can see how much they love him!

Here is his main teacher, Ms. Sandra. She has worked in child care all her life and has worked at his school for 5 years. I remember when I first came in to interview the school, she was the one that sat me down and discussed how they value the kids at this school. I remember how fearful I was of taking him anywhere and how she actually made me excited to bring him here. She seems to know children so well and always made us feel welcome. It is hard to describe, but they just have a very special bond, we call her his school mom.

Here is Linc eating his snack at breakfast time. So funny how children don't follow schedules even if you set one out for them. Now what will he eat for snack, ahhhh!

Linc always likes to see what is in the fridge. It is like a magic secret box to him. He just stares when we open it.

He wanted her to open it again.

Here are some of the other teachers at his school. Ms. Deborah is his other teacher for this room, but she does not come in until later. I will have to get a picture of her another day. I just love all his teachers, they are all so sweet to all the children.

Here is Linc with Ms. Sandra again. When I leave everyday, he wants to get in her arms. I think he just needs that comfort when I leave for the day. I really hope that we can get that kind of comfort at the new school.

As you can see in all these pictures that Linc is alone. Since his friend Zachary went to another school last week, he has been the only baby for like 30 mins each morning. So during that time, he gets to do all the fun things with Ms. Sandra's undivided attention.
So I am still sad that he will be moving over, but I am trying to look at the positives of the new school (i.e. money, extra time and food provided). I just never thought I would get so attached to his teachers, but I did and I am glad I did. It has helped me to focus on work when I need to and not worry about my child's care when I was away from him. Less than 14 days until we start the new school, wish us luck.

Linc's and his swim thing

I forgot to post a few cute pics from the CT trip, so I am posting them tonight. These first few are of Linc and Zack making flowers while I was at H&M. Maybe he will be a florists!

My mom gave him something to eat and he must have really liked it, look at that smile. We all know my child doesn't smile until it is for something really good!

When we got back home, a package had arrived from One Step Ahead, a baby store. I had bought Linc a swimming getting wet kind of device, can't remember what it is called. Anyway, it looked so fun in the catalog that I just had to get it for him. As always I didn't get home until 6 on Monday, but it was so hot that I figured it was a good day to test it out. I was right and I think it wore him out so much because he slept 12 hours that night, we had to wake him up to go to school. I have never had to do that before! Check out the pictures and tell me that doesn't look fun!

He just wanted to catch the water the whole time.

Look at that diaper, I would say he had some serious fun!

Later in the week, Linc had his first real hamburger. I was not hungry one night so Craig went out and got Mickey D's two hamburger special, his usual. Anyway, Linc was grabbing for it, so we just wanted to see if he would eat it and he did and liked it.

Well Linc is off to sleep so I think Craig and I will try to watch a movie!
