Brock's Birthday

We had a busy weekend, check out the latest 3 posts.
This past Saturday, Lincoln got invited to a birthday party for a friend at my works son.  Brock turned two and had his party at Little Gym.  Lincoln was super excited to go.  He still remembered taking class there six months ago and was excited to go back.  As soon as he got there it was like a wild man was unleashed.  He was all over the place, flying on mats and crawling on stuff.
This is what we were doing the whole time, trying to grab him, haha.

Here is Brock and Brennan and Lincoln on the floor.

Crazy wild man running around.
Here is Brock's super cute monkey cake.
Finally some rest time and pizza, yum!
Does he look tired to you?
We thought for sure he would fall asleep on the way home, but he was too busy talking about what a fun time he had.  He loved the air track the best and is a pro jumper.  We might have to do the bounce house for his third birthday.  What a fun weekend!

All Aboard

My friend Jennifer Borg is a teacher and started up a play group for the summer.  They have had all kinds of fun activities, but I have not been able to make any due to work or doctor's appointments.  Finally we got to make one this Friday.  She set up a play group at the Mini Train, Lincoln's favorite!  Before we could head out there, we had to go for my 7 month check up.  Lincoln was not a good boy at the appointment and we almost decided not to take him.  But as soon as we said we were going to the train he straighten up.  It ended up being a nice day for the train because it had rained earlier and had cooled off.
Here is Lincoln and Daddy getting ready for the ride.
Lincoln wanted to sit with Avery, so she squeezed in the middle.
"Yes, this is my girlfriend!"
Smooch
He is a pro, even has his arm around her shoulder.
Philip and Levi enjoying the ride.
Niki and I, oh and Craig's fingers, haha.
The loving couple needed a break from each other.
Lincoln hugging Boston and thanking him for such a fun play group.
Little sweet Avery.
Me and my baby squeeze.
We also had a crazy lunch at Mexican Inn afterwards.  I had to take Lincoln out to the car for a time out.  I guess it was just a terrible twos day.  At least the train and nap where good, haha!

Another Daddy Hobby

About a month ago, Craig started playing on a co-ed softball team with his work.  Let me just say that when Craig decides to do a new hobby, he has to go out and get all the stuff for it.  So he quickly went out and bought a bunch of balls, bats, gloves, and shirts.  I am actually surprised he didn't buy the shoes or "guy hot pants" as I like to call them, haha.  He is just a very dedicated recreational hobbyist.

I have been practicing with him in the backyard, as much as I can, and it has been fun.  I might like to play next year when I am not preggo.  This past Thursday was the first time I was able to go see him play.  His games tend to be late, 8 to 9pm, and this time it was at 6:30, so we got to go.  Lincoln was super excited to see his daddy play "baseball".
Here is Daddy practicing.
More practice.
Unfortunately that was all they got to do.  The other team did not show up, so I didn't get to see his team in action.  They decided to stay and practice some more until the next team needed the field, so we stayed as well.  Lincoln had a good time playing around with all the baseball stuff!
We need to get him a baby bat.
Putting on the gloves.
He has a game every week, so maybe we will get to see them again.  Craig says they are not that good, but I think it will be fun to watch anyway.

Project - Kennedy's Room - First Steps

Check out the latest few posts!

My friend from grade school came in town last week and I was so excited to see her.  Jenny just had a little girl in January and this was the first time I got to see her.  They live in New Mexico and they call her Milly, so cute.  She is really the best baby, I hope mine will be close to this.  Here is Milly!

While Jenny was in town, I took advantage of her skills in sewing.  I really wanted to make Kennedy's bedding and room decor.  I wanted it to be unique and special, but I knew it would be a big undertaking.  Both Nancy (Jenny's mom) and Jenny were willing to help.

We started off by buying all the fabric and boy can that get expensive.  I think the fabric alone was more than I payed for Lincoln's full bedroom set, haha.  The first task we tackled was the bed skirt.  You never know what all goes into bedding until you get into it.  We did a ruffled skirt, so I had to cut 8 pieces of the fabric, sew them together, stitch twice at the top, gather it, sewing to the top part, hem and the list goes on!!  It came out great, but was a lot of work and some parts had to be taken out.

Currently I am working on her bumper pads.  Of course I chose a harder design, so it has taken a bit and I couldn't use a pattern for it.  Which means I had to use my creativity to make it all work!

First I did her monogram.  Doing it on black minky proved to be hard, but looks great.
Then I cut out the black and white toile and pink minky and sewed it all together.
I did this twice, but the other does not have the monogram on it.  Then I cut out the rest of the pieces.  It was a lot of cutting.  I am now working on the batting and then it will be back to Nancy's for her to help me finish it up.
So far it is coming together great and I can't wait to see the finished product.  I have to order her crib and paint her room and...well the list goes on and I better get busy!

Annual Work Picnic

Last Friday was my work's annual picnic.  I posted about it last year as well.  This year I was in charge of Advertising, and it was a big undertaking!  I had to send out notices almost every week for two months and make all the signs for the picnic.  Being preggo, it was the best job because I didn't have to haul anything the day of the picnic.  I also got to enjoy the picnic since my job was done before the picnic.
This year is was very hot and windy.  The wind did help, but it also made for some bad hair, haha.  We always start the picnic off with a softball game.  This is my friend Jamie playing softball!
Right before lunch, I got a call that a fire happened in one of our buildings and had to go home and respond to it, part of the job, haha.  So Craig and Lincoln stayed and played until I got back.  One of Lincoln's favorite things was the bounce house.  Craig said he would not get in there the whole time I was gone, but once I got back and forced him in there he would not come out!
He really enjoyed it!
Here are my mom and dad, yes we all work at the same place.  It is a great perk to my job, I get to see my parents anytime I want to.  There is my dad and mom, blackberring at the picnic, haha!  Love you guys!
It was so hot, Craig and Linc were ready to check out early.
But we had to get in a few more slides before we left.
Go Daddy!
Ok, they really needed a nap, haha.

Craig and Linc headed home while I stayed to finish one last thing.  My child care board had a pie eating contest.  It was the funnest thing I have ever seen, gross at some points, but funny for the most part.  I would show more pictures but I think people would not want to eat pie again, haha!
My mom and I at the end of the picnic.  We all had our hair up at the point, fun sweaty days of summer, haha!
It was a great picnic and next year Kennedy will get to play!

26 Weeks!

26 weeks, wow!  It is going by so fast!!!  Not to many big developments this week, just lots of movement which I love.  I am growing ever so quick this time, haha, but it is fun.  I have started on a big project for Kennedy, that is her bedding.  You will have to watch for progress as I attempt to make her room look fab tab!  It should be fun and very hard at the same time.  I am lucky that I have a friend who has semi done this and is willing to help, that is until she has to go back to NM in two weeks, yikes!
I like how you can't tell from the front in this black shirt, but dang from the side you can, haha!
