Kennedy's Newborn Shoot

Ever since we started using Jennifer Matlock as our photographer, I was excited to have her do a newborn shoot for us.  All the ones I have seen her do were so great and I was so excited to see how Kennedy's would turn out.

Like all of our shoots, there was a chance for rain on the day we did the shoot.  Luckily this time we did most of the shoot inside.  We did start with a few pictures outside before the rain moved in.  Here are a few outdoors.
Linc and his lizard!

This was the first outfit we bought for Kennedy when we found out she was a girl!

Daddy and Linc on the swing while I am trying to calm Kennedy down, haha.  We had a lot of down time, glad we had a few hours for the shoot.

I love this one!

Finally all calmed down for a bit so we could get a shot.

These next few are my favorite of Daddy and Kennedy.

Me and my baby.

Happy family of four.

Back indoors for some fun hat shots!  I had all these ideas for cute pictures, but Kennedy decided she didn't want to wear the hats or bows I had picked out for her, she is already showing her girl personality, haha!

Jen finally got some shots with her eyes closed.

Her first bloomers!

Here is the announcement we sent out which Jen also made.
Hope you enjoyed her as much as we do every day!

Last Week & Random Thoughts

I didn't really have a good title for this post since it is really just pictures of last week, hence the name!  These weeks just keep coming and going too quickly.  It kind of makes me sad and happy at the same time.  I am sad because that means I will have to go back to work in about six weeks and leave my baby with Yong while I go to work and all the emotions that go along with that.  I wish I could stay at home with her this first year and watch her grow.  It would also be easier since I am nursing her.  I am not looking forward to pumping at work for a few year again.  On the other hand I am happy because that means we will get closer to a full nights sleep, she will began to develop a relationship with Lincoln and all the other joys that come in the first year.

The Sunday before last, our friends Tony and Emily came by to meet Kennedy.  They brought us some yummy dinner and lots of greats stuff.  They have a little girl that is about to turn one.  Emily gave me a bunch of Clara's clothes from 3-6 months and they were all cute.  One of may favorite outfits was this pink daisy outfit.  It has daisies on the shirt, pant legs and even on the socks.  I paired it up with the bow Jenny made me and she looked fabulous!

I put her in the outfit on Monday for our Lactation appointment. The ladies could not get over her outfit, it was too much, haha!  We have been having some issues with nursing and I wanted to have our latch checked out.  She gave us some good tips and we are doing a bit better now.  Just goes to show every child is different because I never had issues with Lincoln other than his reflux.

Craig cracks me up because he hates all the bows/flowers.  So as soon as he got home he took her bow off and the flower that was on her shirt.  Lincoln continues to amaze me with the love he has for his sister.  Mind you, he still gets jealous, but never takes it out on her.

Most of the time he just ignores her unless she is crying.  But I think that is good, he is still a toddler and most of the time he should be doing his own thing.

Paula came over on Wednesday.  She has done that a few times and it is great because we get out and walk together.  She is also a big help in watching Kennedy while I do a few things around the house.

The rest of the week was pretty chill.  Craig worked a half day on Friday, but took Kennedy and I out for lunch afterwards.  It was nice to have some alone time with just Craig, Kennedy and I.  Craig was only home for a week when she was born and that whole time she was under the lights or in the hospital for jaundice.  Sometimes I feel we got robbed of that family bonding time with just the three of us.  Don't get me wrong, I love Lincoln bonding with her too, but it is different when we can just focus our attention on one child at a time.  Kennedy also took her first bottle of pumped milk this weekend, and it did not go too great so we will have to try again.

These last pictures are from this morning.  Kennedy and I got up and dressed and will be heading out to do some grocery & other shopping soon!  This week is already a busy one!  I have to work at home tomorrow, have visitors on Wednesday, taking Kennedy to meet work people on Thursday, six week check up on Friday and then possible Boo at the Zoo afterwards!  I guess that is why my weeks go by so fast, haha!

She is just getting so big!  Love those little cheeks!

Dad and Brother's Birthday Party

Sunday we celebrated my Dad and Brother's birthday with a late breakfast.  We had all the goods, Belgian waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs and cake!  Yes, we had cake as part of the breakfast, had to get it in there some how!  While we were there, my nephew, Ryan got to hold Kennedy for the first time.  He was so nervous, but he did a great job.

Lincoln waiting for the cake.

The birthday boys!  They got tickets to see the cowboys that day.

They got a fish finder as well for their birthday's, and Lincoln wanted to check out the boat while they installed it.  He is such a great boat driver, haha!

Lincoln with Uncle Bob, he loves his Uncle Bob!

The boys had a great morning and then headed off to see the game.  Happy Birthday Dad and Bob!

A Picnic

Saturday Craig's work held a picnic at LMRA.  It was great weather for a picnic.  We had fajitas and yummy sweets.  Lincoln got to play with Ollie and Sam on the swings.  We told Lincoln on Friday about the picnic and he cried because he couldn't go right then.  Our little boy loves to be outside, just like Dad!  Here is Linc enjoying a cookie next to his sister.

Miss K slept most of the picnic.  That gave me time to push Linc on the swing.  I really appreciate my time with him now more since i don't get as much, tear.

Here is my cute little man!  He showed off the whole time and enjoyed all the adult attention.  He also shared his cookies with everyone, what a sweet boy.

Here are some of Craig's work friends!  We had a great time.
