Thanksgiving 2012

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at the Gabbard House.  We were once again asked to host and were glad to jump on the opportunity.  It is nice to be able to have it at your house when you have children that still nap.  Plus I actually have a few decoration for this holiday, so it was fun to put them up.

We had a really good menu for the event and I got to use the chalkboard Craig made for Kennedy's birthday.

He also painted a lazy susan at the same time, it is cute!

Here are some of the great desserts I made, cake balls, apple cheesecake bars and pumpkin woopie pies.

Enough break to feed the neighborhood!

Paula Deen's Sweet Potato Casserole, it was a favorite.

More thanksgiving decor.

One of the people I am most thankful for!

Here is another one, love him!

Ham and all the fixin's

Cut that turkey mom!

The look I get when I want to take his picture!

Love my grandparents

She loves her uncle Bob!

Dad's turn to cut the turkey.

We are ready!

A little exercise after that big meal.

Time to relax and watch the game.

Family picture time!

Yep, it was a good turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I turned 30!

In November, I turned 30, yes 30, I can't believe it!  I wanted to celebrate big and started thinking of what would be fun months prior.  I remember going to Vegas when I turned 21 and how much fun Craig and I had and decided it would be a good place to go.  Sadly, our other baby-sitters, The Gabbards, had moved to Thailand in September so we did not have anyone to watch the kids.  And my mom can't stand not going to Vegas if someone else is going, so I ended up going with my mom and brother. I am glad I got to spend this time with them since it has been so long.  Here we are at the airport taking off to Las Vegas.

After we got in at 1 am our time, I headed off to bed while my mom and brother hit the casino.  I am not a big gambler, so I am sure you ask why I would go there.  Well they have great shows and wonderful food and the best spa I have ever been to.  We ended up staying at Caesars and it was just fabulous. The next morning, I went to work out while they slept off the night before and then we all met at Serendipity for lunch, yum.  I got the frozen hot chocolate of course.

Then I got to see some Romans!

That night I got to see La Reve with my brother, it was a great water like cirque de sole.

One night, we went over to the Cosmopolitan and got this great pizza, it was called Secret Pizza.  It's name is true, we had to ask 3 different people where it was.  It ended up being down a long hallway with no signs, but it was the best!

On my actually birthday, I got this picture from Craig, they were having fun and going on the train back home.  I sure did miss them while I was away.

Also on my actual birthday, my mom put me up at the spa all day.  I started out my day in the gym with a light workout, then I headed over to the steam room for a bit before my first treatment, a moisturizing body wrap. After that, I got to relax in the tea room before I headed down for my stone massage, it was the best.  The rest of the day I spent in the roman baths and in the steam and cold rooms, it was the most amazing and relaxing day.  I stayed there from 8am to 4pm, ahhh!
That night I got a surprise from my brother, tickets to see Guns & Roses.  It was pretty cool.

I had to get in some yummy food before hand, steak and lobster from Roy's.

This picture is out of order, but this was dinner our last night at Rio's Italian, it was great!

This one is also out of order, but this was my last serendipity trip for a banana split, it was awesome.

These were some amazing crepes I had at the local bakery.

My brother and I getting ready for my birthday dinner.

Birthday dinner at Roy's!

 Getting after the lobster!

Happy Birthday to Me!

On the last day there, my mom and I started off our day walking around Las Vegas, here we are at Caesars pool.

Pretending it is a nice day for a swim.

Inside Caesars wonderful hotel.

We had our last lunch at MargaritaVille

Look at the size of those nachos.

Oh look, I found Kiss

My brother and I ended the day walking around and getting souvenirs, it was a great day.

It was an wonderful trip and great birthday.  I did miss having Craig and the kids there, but I am so thankful to have a husband that would give me this break to celebrate my birthday.  I also got to see Bradley Cooper twice while I was there but never got a photo of him.  He got on the elevator with me and held the door for me, I was star struck, haha.  Yay to 30!
