Water!!!

Yay, I am all caught up, check out the latest 4 posts!

Oh boy, it is getting hot here in Texas!  What are we gonna do all summer in this heat??  Well for now, we are gonna do the tree shower, thank you Levi for the idea!  Like I said in the last post, Linc asked to do this on the way home from the Brawleys and has not stopped asking, so Craig rigged it up on Sunday for some wet fun!  Lincoln loved it!

Kenny had to take a diva bikini break.  I mean can they make baby bikinis any cuter?

Tree shower power!!  What a simple way to produce a lot of fun and be safe at the same time.  Of course, once the water restriction hits, we will have to find something else to do, but for now this is awesome!

My sweet boy.  He just looks so different without his glasses on, they are just a part of him now.

Not in the smiling mood, she wants to get back to the water.

"Honey, the towel doesn't go in the water, it wipes the water off of you, come back here!"

What better way to finish a summer wet fest than with lunch on the patio. Yay Summer!

It was such a hit on Sunday that we had to do it again on Monday.  And with another day came another fabulous suit!! She just rocks these bikinis, haha!

A Little Backyard Fun with the Brawleys

Craig and Philip headed out on another weekend kayaking trip two weeks ago which left us girls time to plan a play date!  I packed up the kids after nap and headed over to Niki's house for some afternoon fun.  Niki made a yummy lasagna and I was in charge of dessert, whoo hoo, you know I love sugar!

When we got there, her kids were ready to play outside in the water but I had forgotten their suits, so they just went without, haha!  What's more fun than playing in water in your underoos! Levi hooked up the tree shower and away they played.  I think they played for at least an hour in it. Here is K loving the water dropping on her head.

Linc got in there with lil sis! Her face is priceless, thanks for taking the pictures Niki!

Cal just wanted to touch it, he didn't want IT to touch him, he was playing keep away, haha!

Oh glorious water!

Avery and Lincoln were getting cold, so they wrapped up in towels and sat together, so cute!  Lincoln is one lucky boy to have this pretty girl by his side, :)!

The kids had a blast and Lincoln wanted to go right home and put the hose in our tree. Thanks for the fun Brawley Bunch!  And as soon as the boys got back, Niki and I had some play time and got to see a movie, yippee!  We both agreed that it was our turn next time for a weekend girls trip, time to plan!

Mother's Day 2012

We had an eventful Mother's Day weekend! After we headed down for Cory's graduation in San Marcos, we came back home on Saturday night so we could get a good sleep before Mother's Day, we needed it!  We all headed out to La Hacienda Ranch to meet up for late lunch.  I was excited to give my mom the blocks I made her and for my brother to see the final product in person.  Kenny had to get in some snuggles from her new pal, my dad (she recently took a shine to this guy!)

Kenny looking cute in her bow!
We had a yummy lunch and my mom loved her present, so win win! Here is the gang at the Ranch, minus some of the men.

I love that I get to share my mother's day with these two sweeties, love love love!

The woman who taught me how wonderful it is to be a mother, love you mom.

Grandma and her darlin!

To the mother's of the world, I hope you had a wonderful mother's day.  It is truly a wonderful blessing.

And the Cap and Gown Goes To...

A few day's before Mother's Day, we went down to San Marcos to see Craig's youngest brother graduate from college.  He went to Texas State University and graduated with a business degree.

We made a whole weekend trip out of it since he would be moving back shortly after graduation.  You see, I love me some outlet shopping, who doesn't?  After his graduation, Yong and I went out for a few hours to look around, but at that outlet mall it was not enough time, haha, so we planned to go back the next day.

Well you know what they say about having plans and small children...you better plan on them changing!  The day of Cory's graduation, Kennedy seemed to have a little stomach bug, so we had been watching her all day.  Long story short, the next day she became dehydrated and we had to take her into the ER since we were out of town.  They helped her out and we decided to head back that night.  It was an exciting trip to say the least. I did atleast get some Round Rock Doughnuts on the way back, bonus!  Here is Cory's graduating class!

Congrats Cory!  He already has a job too, how lucky is he!

Enough pictures, mom!

MOM Blocks - A Mother's Day Gift

For Mother's Day this year, I wanted to do something special.  I wanted to do more than just get my mom a gift card somewhere, which is perfectly fine, but I have done that for so many years I think it was time for a change.  I had searched around for ideas and found a picture of blocks with photos on them that spelled out mom.  There were no instructions, but I didn't think it could be that hard, so off to Hobby Lobby I went.  I looked around for something square and had a hard time finding anything.  Lucky for me I have a handy husband that had left over mdf board from when he made Lincoln's bed.

You will need: 3 wooden squares, 1 piece of scrapbook paper, 2 paint colors (one for outside and one to write on the blocks with), large paint brush, small paint brush, mod podge, 3 5x7 photos of your choice

Here's how I made it:
1. cut three equal size squares, around 4 inches.
2. paint all 4 edges with the color of your choice, I chose black.

3. cut out three pieces of scrap book paper the size of the block.
4. put mod podge (MP) on the block and lay the scrap book paper over it.

5. MP over the paper and on the sides to make sure it stays down, wait for it to dry.

6. trace your pictures to the size of the block and cut them out.

7. MP on the block that does not have the scrap book paper on it and lay the picture on top.

They should look like this.

8. MP over the pictures and let them dry.

9. pick out your second paint and paint the letters M-O-M around the pictures.  This worked well for me since I have just one brother.  The picture on the left is he and my mom (he is the older sibling).  The one in the middle is of him and I now.  The one on the right is me as a baby.  This is what the finished product should look like from the front.

This is what one of the backs look like.  The MP give the pictures a nice hand painted look.
Simple, but so cute, right!  My mom loved it and she put it up in her office.  The funny thing is that they think the first picture of her holding my brother is me, I guess we really do look a lot alike.  Love you mom!

Avery Mae turns four!

Lincoln's girlfriend, Avery, turned four at the end of April.  To celebrate, she had a dress up tea party.  Everyone was to bring a stuffed animal to the party and they would drink tea and play dress up.  The table was so cute!

The birthday girl wore a Cinderella dress, woven scarf, pearls, a purple rhinestoned cowgirl hat and matching gloves.  What a doll!

Lincoln was not to sure about the whole dress up thing, but once he saw Levi and Philip where in dress up clothes, he went after it!  He had to make sure he had a sword first.

Check out Captain Gabbard!

So lovey were the girls who came for tea.

We have the mafia lord Levi, Debutant Avery Mae and Captain Gabbard.

They were all so cute and having a great time.

The cake was super cute.

Of course we had to dress up a bit too!

Happy Birthday Miss Avery Mae, love you!
