Park Crazy!

Since getting our bikes we have discovered two parks that we wanted to take Lincoln to. The first one was off the Benbrook trail in an area that has a big Path Closed sign on it. Well, Craig wanted to see what was behind that sign, so we rode on past and discovered a park. Unfortunately that day it was about to get dark so we could not get out to play, and we decided we would come back later.

Since both Craig and I got off early the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we decided to head out on the trail and take Linc to a park. I had seen a park off the Trinity while at lunch earlier that week and suggested we try that one first. We hopped on our bikes and headed out. We decided to drop off at Bryant Irvin since the park was all the way up the Trinity. It was still a lot farther than we anticipated, but we finally made it there with enough time for him to play for about 30 minutes before we needed to head back.

The mini train goes right past the park, so that was a highlight while we were there. It has a few different playsets, so it took him a while to find one he wanted to play on. When he did finally get on one, he wanted me right there behind him. I was crawling all over it just like the little kids, it was fun! You know we have an adventurous son, well he wanted to climb up this ladder all by himself, but I just had to help him.

Check out what a big boy he is in this video!

On Friday we decide that we would try out the Benbrook trail "forbidden" park. We headed over there after Linc's nap and it was the perfect size for him. It looks brand new, so we are not sure how long it has been there. It looks like they are extending the trail back there, so that is probably why it is closed off. Linc got on this toucan all by himself.

He told Daddy to get on the other one.

I really liked this park because it had a lot of educational puzzles and a rock climbing wall, which you don't see much in big parks.

Daddy enjoyed the slide, although it was the length of his legs, haha! It was also nice, because this side of the park was for smaller kids like Linc.

We love having our new bikes and being able to discover parks and other areas we can explore. Linc has also really started to like going in the trailer, as long as we let him sit on our bikes for a bit. He still really wants a bike of his own, so maybe Santa can get him a trike for Christmas.

How fun to discover new places to play! Linc is getting so tall, it must be fun to watch him discover all those fun playground activities. Good thing you guys did that while it was still fall...winter has definitely arrived now!
