To add to it, last night my oldest friend and greatest bud Paula came into town (well actually she came in on Tuesday, but I just saw her last night). She is in the Army and has been on duty for a while in Iraq and she is home for leave. We have known each other since we were in 3rd grade. She was actually the first person I talked to when I started school in Texas. It has been really hard for both of us being apart for so long. I guess we are use to it now since this is her second tour and before that she was in Germany for a year. She finally gets to come home for good in January and I am so excited to have her back in the states safe! God bless her for all she does for our country, she is one mightily Army woman!
In honor of Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life, I thought I would put this picture of Paula and I at our wedding. This week Kelly is doing the wedding party and flowers, so I thought I would give you a little taste!
My bridesmaids wore turquoise and silver, my sorority colors! The dresses came out great in these colors. Each girl could choose the style they wanted (i.e. strapless, sleeved...). We all had hydrangea flowers in mostly blue tones, I loved them. Since this part is about Paula, most of these pictures only have her in them. Here she is getting ready!
Matron of Honor, Jenny Wappett. We have almost known each other as long, we met in 4th grade. Paula was crying in most of these, so sweet.
Paula and I!
Linc has been doing good at his new school. I think he finally has a permanent teacher. They switched his rooms after the first week and he had a few different teachers which was upsetting me. I know how hard it is for them to adjust and I just wanted him to see a familiar face each day. But now that problem is solved and he seems to enjoy his new teacher. Right now there is only 2 other children in his class and one is named Zachary just like his best bud at his old school. So they are all getting a lot of one on one time with the teacher which is great. He is also taking a two hour nap at school, which has been great!
As I mentioned above, my dad and I started a new workout program, well that program is bootcamp! I know there are all sorts of versions of bootcamp out there, so I want to tell you how intense this one seems to be. We started on Tuesday and they got our measurements and timed our mile, sit-ups and push-ups. SO that day was not to bad, embarrassing, but not too bad. Just a side note here, I have been wanting to start a new program because I can't seem to get these lbs off from having Lincoln. When I was nursing a lot, I was within 5 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight, yay! Now that I only nurse him 1 or 2 times a day I guess I have gained some of it back and now I am 12 lbs over what I want to be, boo!
My problem usually isn't the working out part, it is the eating part, and really it is mainly because of my sugar addiction. I am addicted to all sugar, well except sodas, I don't really like those, unless it is root beer, but I only have one of those like a month, anyway. I am so bad that if I know there is desert, I will stop eating my dinner so that I can save room for it. So with this bootcamp I think I will be able to closely monitor what I am doing and also have a more intense workout.
I ran on Wednesday by myself, because the instructor wants you to have 2 more workouts between the bootcamp class. Thursday was our next bootcamp class, and man am I sore. We started out with a jog around the ball field and then came back to stretch. After we ran to a parking lot and did tons of dips, push-ups, and squats. Then we ran to a hill that had light poles and did ladder sprints up and down the hill which was about 300 yards or more each way. After that we had what he called a cool down run, ha! We ran around the lake for about 25 minutes. Once done with that we ran back up the hill to the Y. And we did all this outside in the humid weather, luckily it was not too hot, but it was still hard to breathe. Over all he said we ran about 3.5 miles, which does not seem like a lot. But I guess when you count in all the exercises we did in between, that must be why I am so sore and tired today.
They say the only way to get ride of sore muscles is to work them out again, so did the elliptical today at work and then stretched. Maybe I will get one more low key workout in this weekend. My dad did so good, I really am proud of him and glad he asked me to do it. 5 more weeks!!!
So I wanted to close with some fun pictures.
It rained on our wedding day when we had an outdoor wedding, but I will have to save that story for another time. So in this picture, Paula is trying to comfort me, she is so sweet.
Here is our wedding party. I had six bridesmaids and he had six groomsmen. We had 3 ushers, 2 flower girls and one ring bearer.

One of Lincoln's favorite past times is to get into the dog food. He loves to get out the scoop, with food, and put it in the doggie bowl. Most of the time he will then take the dog food out of the bowl and put it in the water bowl. I think he likes to watch it expand. He decided this would be fun to do on Thursday and so I caught him in action. Such a silly boy.
Here he is with the dog scoop, the clean side in his mouth of course.
