Kennedy Mae is Five Months

Kenny Mae, you turned 5 months on February 8th.  This month has been a huge month for first.  Let's see what you have learned and how you have changed this month.

What is new this month:
-You weight around 17 pounds
-You are about 26.5 inches long
-You are still in size 3 diapers and have room, so you should be good for a while.
-You are barley squeezing by on 3-6 months clothes and I am glad the weather has been warmer this week so we can break out the 6-12 month clothes Emily gave us.
-You laugh so much more now.
-You have started eating veggies and pears & prunes(to help you poop) and are loving them.  You still nurse 7-8 times a day.
-The day before you five month birthday you started to roll from your back to your front. Now we can't lay you down on your back without you turning immediately to your front, unless it is to sleep.
-You are grabbing at multiple toys at one time.  You want to have them all.
-You are starting to sit up on your own for a few seconds at a time.
-On your stomach, you are starting to push your feet in the ground and lift your tushy.
-You are making more sounds and make a noise that sounds like "hi" when I say hi to you.
-Biggest accomplishment this month is sleeping at night!  I am so glad we did the sleep program now.  You go to bed at 7 and wake around 3:30 and then are back down again until 7 or 8 in the morning, it is awesome.  That is really sleeping through the night since you are getting 8 hours of sleep before your first waking.  Naps are still not good, help please!
-You can move in your walker now, not far, but some (thanks to Niki for showing us it can go lower to the ground, haha)
-You saw your first snow and your little nose got red.
-You can hold both of your feet on your back.
Here is my cutie in her 5 month outfit.

I am just loving those cheeks.  I want them to stay a while!

Here she is showing off her sitting up trick, with support.

My other baby who will be 3 this month!

I love my rings, such a girl!

Sitting up with start support.

No support, reaching for a toy!

Have to have all the toys, mine.

I will give one up to roll over.

Yay, I did it!

I love you Lincoln, you are so cute!

This picture is upside down, but another new trick, holding your feet.

This is one of my favorite baby things, it is so cute.  I have a picture of Lincoln just like this in a basket holding his feet, they look so much a like.  I love my babies!

Happy five months Kennedy, next month is your halfy birthday!  We love you!

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's super Boston!

February 5th, the day of the big thaw, was Boston's birthday party.  Jen always hosts the best parties and I just loved the theme for Boston's party this year, Superheros.  It was so nice to get out of the house after being in for 4 days.  Here is Craig holding Kennedy in her Valentine's outfit.  Jen's mom made the onesie and Jen made the bow!

Lincoln threw a big fit getting out of the car at the party because we wouldn't let him take his toys into the party.  So I was so tickled when Jen told me that Lincoln walked in and said " where are all the toys at?".  I image this is what his face looked like, all business.

I think they both already needed a nap, haha.  It is the cabin fever, it drains your energy!

Then we found the spiderman face and it was smooth sailing from there on.

Kennedy was being a mama's girl that day, I love snuggling with my sweet babe.

Super Boston!  I realized that I didn't get any pictures of Boston, so I took a picture from Jen's blog.  He looked really cute and was ruling the party!
Super Lincoln!

Look at the cute party favors, personalized capes.

Kennedy was so cute with her first balloon.  She was so amazed by it.  I don't know what it is with kids and balloons, but they keep them entertained!

Look at it bounce!

And sway...

I love my balloon.

Thanks for a great party Jen and family.  Happy 3rd Birthday Boston!

So Much Ice and a Bit of Snow!

February 1st was the start of our crazy winter storm here in Texas.  For the past few years it seems like we get one day of snow sometime around February or March.  When our storm was predicted this year, I figured it would be much of the same.  We would get to have Linc all decked out for one day of fun in the snow.  Surprise, this year we had 4 days of it!  For Texas, that is a huge deal.

Lucky or unlucky (haha) for me, we were told to work at home the whole week because they didn't want us downtown where all the Superbowl action was.  It was lucky because I didn't have to try and get to the office each day since I was suppose to just work from home anyways.  It was unlucky because my office was closed 3 of the 4 days and if I would not have agreed to work at home, I could have played for the 3 days with my kids instead of work.  Oh well, it worked out fine.

Lincoln does not have any boots, so the first day we went out we had to put grocery bags around his shoes so his feet wouldn't get wet, haha!  Good idea Craig on the homemade snow boots.

He is such a trendsetter, I bet these will be on the selves next winter, Albertson's logo and all!

Daddy had a good time too, here he is balancing on the basketball.

Us girls stayed warm in the house most of the week, it is better inside at this age.

Those boys are crazy, right Kennedy!

Day two of snowmagedon was a little more relaxed, just hanging on the floor with the toys.

We all started to get cabin fever by day three!  I don't think my child has ever watched some many movies and episodes of Caillou and Wonder Pets.  I did try to sneak in some learning here and there, but that is hard to do when I was trying to work too.  The snow was so pretty!

Daddy trekked into work a few days and we had to wait on him to go play.  Here Lincoln is after a fresh dusting wanting to go play.

Day 4 brought more snow in the morning, but a thaw down at the end of the day.  This was also Friday and I didn't have to work so I could just enjoy the day.  We finally decided to all bundle up and head out to play.

Kennedy in her bunting.  Never thought she would have to wear it.  I had to add a little flower to her hat to make it a bit more girly.

He is just having a blast! (can you find our tiny snowman?)

Man daddy is tall!

Me and my babe!  She is not to sure about this cold!

Momma is not as tall, haha!

Friday night we all had enough of being in the house alone, so the Brawley's came over for some burritos and fun.  It was nice to talk to other people since we had been cooped up in the house all week.  Here are Kennedy and Calvin looking surprised at something, so cute.

Snow is pretty, but I am not sure I could be around it for very long now.  I do love to ski, but we don't get that type of snow.  Most of the week was just ice which is not fun to drive in, with a little snow at the end.  I will say it was pretty and I can tell Kennedy that she saw her first snow when she was just 5 months old!  Lincoln beat her though, he saw his at 4 days old.  Crazy Texas Weather!
